Off-grid luxe: a romantic countryside cabin with huge views from its hot tub
Space & setting.
With an utterly unique facade that mirrors a honeycomb, this kooky little cabin has got us all abuzz. It sits, utterly private, in a meadow of its own, with views of the glorious Teifi Valley through little hexagonal windows. Handcrafted from reclaimed materials and local timber, it’s a masterclass in sustainable design, totally off grid with solar-powered electricity and water from a well. But that doesn’t mean roughing it; quite the opposite. There’s a strong tile game in the bathroom and dressing gowns for padding out to the hot tub. En vogue colours and a velvet sofa feel more boutique than glampy, and we love the characterful rustic tree-trunk beams and glass roof so you can stargaze from bed.
The surroundings will get you buzzing too. The 22-acre smallholding is a sweep of wildflower meadows and ponds, home to badgers, frogs, even herons. Walks wind out from the front door, or it’s an easy zip over to the coast for breathtaking and relatively empty beaches. This area is a real insider secret.
