Incredible design cottage for 4 on Cornwall's wildly beautiful Lizard peninsula
Space & setting.
You’ll feel constantly connected to the ocean in this incredible former fisherman’s cottage. Waves crash against the nearby cliffs and an occasional lighthouse siren sings mesmerically in the distance, reminding you that you’re perched on the remote and rugged Lizard peninsula. Tumble straight down hedgerow-lined paths – surfboards, buckets and spades, and picnic in arm – to explore the coves and sandy beaches that line this enchanting stretch of wild coastline. If you’re an early bird, keep your eyes peeled for the resident seals that bask upon the rocks in the morning light.
Later, sun kissed and salt tousled, head back to the village for an easy pub supper, or whip up dinner in the beautiful kitchen and eat on your terrace, festoon lights overhead and smooth warm pebbles underneath. Kids will love playing family board games and reading in the cushion- and sheepskin-lined window seats before bedtime, leaving you free to soak in the master bedroom’s indulgent nickel bathtub. The climate down here is milder than the rest of Cornwall, and the light on the Lizard is magical. Come to escape the Cornish crowds and just be.

Surrounds.
- Stroll down to Lizard Point – the furthest, most southerly tip of the UK. Look out for seals basking in the sunshine or popping their heads in and out of the waves.
- The stunning and secluded Housel Bay rarely gets crowded, even in peak season. After a day on the beach, drink in spectacular, expansive ocean views over sundowners at Housel Bay Hotel, perched on the headland.
- Or take the kids for an ice cream at the Tregullas Farm Shop and fill the pantry with local flavours. It’s part of the local sheep farm, so pick up some superb lamb for a BBQ.
- Walk the South West Coast path to Kynance – an incredible white-sand beach, Caribbean-esque in its beauty.
- Lunch at Cafe Flora — a walled garden on the Trelowarren estate. Expect home-grown veggies and garden salads, along with fresh fish, in a beautiful setting.
- Fifteen mins’ drive away, on the Helford Estuary, the Cornish Seal Sanctuary rescues seals from across the UK and nurses them back to health. It has a sweet collection of otters, penguins, ponies and goats too.
- Nearby Cadgewith is a small working fishing harbour, where you can watch the catch come in, then be served it later in one of the pubs and restaurants. Tuesdays is ‘folk night’ – listen to sea shanties as you dine!

FAQs.
Yes, there is lots of parking available on the streets around the cottage. Please note that there is no parking immediately in front of the property, as Pebbles is on a small row that narrows to a single lane outside the cottage. The car can be parked just along the lane (a few meters away) outside the neighbours barn. Guests are welcome to pull up outside the cottage to unload and then park their car afterwards at their convenience
Yes, two well behaved dogs are welcome at Pebbles. We have lots of wooden furniture so if your dog is a chewer this property won’t be suitable for you.

Yes! There are several beaches within a 10-15 minute walk of the cottage – along beautiful national trust paths lined with hedgerows. Our favourite is Housel Bay which is best visited during the warmer months when the tide is out. Please note that this bay is not accessible when the tide is in.
For a fast charge head to nearby Porthleven – a local coffee roastery Origins Coffee have fast chargers outside their café so you can have a bite to eat whilst you charge. For a slower charge there is a guy in the village who allows you to plug into his charge point for an hourly fee.
Yes. There is a door to the stairs so that young children cannot access the staircase without supervision. The bedroom doors are also on high latches so little people couldn’t wander out to the stairs in the middle of the night if the door is closed. We also provide a Baby Bjorn travel cot for a baby. There is plenty of room in the master bedroom or the twin room for this.
No. We are happy to be free from the trappings of modern electronic devices so there is there is NO TV in the property. We do pay for a TV license however so please feel free to bring a screen/tablet/laptop to access TV live or on demand via the Internet.
The WC and shower are downstairs and accessed via the hall. There is a nickel boat bath available in the master bedroom. There is also a second hot shower outdoors in the rear courtyard.
