*Brand new*
English wine is in vogue, and this pink-washed farmhouse offers an idyllic place to sample the fruits of homegrown labour. Channelling rustic-chic, the 4-bedroom conversion on the award-winning Sandridge Barton Estate is a palette of sage greens, inky blues, pale wood and slate, offering a large open-plan living space with views over the orchard and vineyard. Timber beams and a log burner add to a feeling of laidback luxe, while a beautiful kitchen calls you to cook up a feast using the area’s amazing local produce (seafood straight from Brixham’s boats is a highlight).

Sleeping up to 8, the stylish yet homely bedrooms are trussed up with wood panelling, comfortable beds, statement lights and soul-filled decor in the form of sketches and succulents. All have an ensuite shower room so it’s just a race to the master, which has a rolltop, too. At the rear of the property lies a south-facing courtyard reminiscent of an Ibizan finca thanks to sun-bleached garden furniture adorned with muted soft furnishings. With a barbecue to boot, you’ll want to dine outside whenever possible — and with such delicious wine available on site, you won’t be arguing over who’s designated driver. Have at least one meal in the fantastic restaurant, Circa, though; you’re on holiday, after all. Spend your days walking through the vineyards, having guided tastings, or rambling along the River Dart and down to the South Devon coast. Nearby beaches offer long stretches of golden sand, secluded coves and shingle beaches flanked by cliffs.

Getting here: drive, or train to Paignton or Totnes and taxi (10 / 15 mins)

Special touches.

+ Book a guided tasting and tour of the onsite winery.
+ Treat yourselves to a wine flight accompanied by local cheeses in the bar.
