*New*
Seeking a slower pace and soul-lifting scenery for their own lives, owners Cassie and Chris left London for Herefordshire and settled here to start a family. They’re now sharing their sanctuary with guests, having revamped a clutch of existing cabins and treehouses hidden amongst 67 acres of woodland overlooking the leafy Frome Valley. The setting is incredible. Interior-wise, rustic beams and walls are offset by vintage and antique pieces (Ercol lounge chairs, French Napoleon III armchairs, mid-century elm Scandinavian armchairs), along with patchwork quilts, Morris & Co wallpapers, Nkuku ceramics and lovely delft tiles from Cornwall. The smaller cabins sleep 2 apiece, 4 have alfresco baths on their deck to add to the romance; the other has a rolltop at the foot of its bed. There’s also a cabin for 8, with double-height ceilings and beautiful woodworking.
The 300-acre wider farm is yours to roam free, with tennis and cider tasting onsite, too (best enjoyed separately). No WiFi means you can truly disconnect while you’re here: grounding woodland walks, birdsong-filled bath soaks, massages and private yoga classes to calm even the most frazzled nervous systems. Or head out for adventure: the Herefordshire Trail runs alongside the woodland, a 150-mile footpath that rambles through pretty villages. Later, make pizza to cook in your Ooni oven, then wander down to the woodland cinema to watch a film under the stars. It’s all very easy, and so so peaceful.
Getting here: drive, or train to Great Malvern/Malvern Link, then taxi (25 mins)

- Take the dog for an evening walk across Bringsty Common, then watch the sunset from Bromyard Downs (both around 1 hour’s walk from the woods).
- Spend an afternoon at the National Trust Brockhampton Estate, a timber-framed moated manor house dating back to the 14th century, and wander through the acres of woodland, parkland and pretty orchards (10 mins’ drive).
- Go cycling, walking, horse-riding or climbing on the Malvern Hills, and take in far-reaching views across the forested hills and rolling farmland of Herefordshire, Worcestershire and the Cotswolds (30 mins).
- Take a two-wheel tour of the county’s best cider-makers along Herefordshire’s Southern Cider Circuit, a 59-mile loop starting at Hereford Cathedral, taking you through ancient orchards and along riverside trails, ending at the Cider Museum (stop for tastings along the way!).
