Wildly romantic design cabin close to Snowdonia National Park
Space & setting.
*Brand new*
Built in a natural clearing so as not to disturb the ancient woodland habitat, this Grand Designs-esque treetop retreat slots quietly into place in leafy Llanfyllin. From its hillside perch, the cabin looks out across rolling farmland, where lambs play in spring and a sparkling frost covers the fields in winter. But it’s the inside that really blows you away – as incredible as you’d expect from an interior designer owner. In the open-plan living-dining area, a hearth of dark glossy tiles and a matte monochrome kitchen sets off soft greys, cool whites and tactile fabrics – all bathed in dappled light filtering in through the trees and huge windows.
Bedside canopy views ease you into the day here, followed by a morning coffee on the balcony – keep your eyes on the sky to spot woodpeckers, red kites and buzzards. Linger over breakfast, then set out across the fields or venture further to explore the beautiful lakes, waterfalls and mountains of Powys and Snowdonia. As evening rolls into dusk, walk into town for dinner or stay put to watch the changing light dance across the landscape from the sunken bath. Magical.
