The most beautiful cottage for 4-5, a minute's walk from the sea in picturesque Port Isaac
Space & setting.
There’s a timeless, Kernow-of-old feel to Port Isaac – local fisherman still haul their daily catch onto the quay, the mellow sound of sea shanties fills the air on warm summer evenings and narrow cobbled lanes meander through rows of ancient cottages. Inspired by childhoods spent in the area, the owners have stamped their creativity all over this characterful cottage. Beachy vibes and seashore finds – stripes, wicker, driftwood – mingle with splashes of rustic-chic: there’s a sage green four-poster, sheepskin-topped sofas, jute rugs. And at the top, your very own sundowner terrace, with views that tumble down over the village’s pretty whitewashed houses to the harbour.
It’s a minute’s walk to the sea front for morning swims and exceptional restaurants: the foodie scene here is legendary, with 2 Nathan Outlaw Michelin-starred restaurants in the village. Walk the rugged north coast path to secluded coves for peaceful beach days, or go surfing, mussel foraging and cycle the Camel Trail. Quintessential Cornish living.

Surrounds.
- Rise early and start the day with a morning dip in the harbour (a minute’s walk downhill), meandering back via the bakery to pick up fresh bread and morning pastries.
- Join the rugged north coast path towards Port Quin and find secluded sandy coves for a beach day.
- Forage for mussels at low tide or pick up a fresh haul of fish from the quay-side; head home for a BBQ feast on the top terrace as the sun goes down.
- Cyclists can pedal along the Camel Trail from Wadebridge to Padstow (or vice versa), renting bikes at one end and dropping them off at the other. If you end up at Padstow, Rick Stein’s fish and chips are a perfect lunch.
- Surf at one of the local beaches, or take a boat trip with Wavehunters around the islands to spot wild seals and pods of dolphins.
- Foodies should book ahead for a meal at Nathan Outlaw’s restaurants, or wander around the headland round to Port Gaverne Restaurant for seasonal seafood and a magical spot. For simple fish and chips and a local pint, the pub in the harbour is hard to beat!
