High-end lodges & nature-based experiences on a stunning estate, less than an hour from London (each sleeps 2)
Space & setting.
*Brand new*
Five back-to-nature hideaways on a breathtaking estate, this place is a paragon of off-grid, easy luxury. After a day spent roaming the stunning valleys and ancient trails beyond your front deck, shake off your boots, pour a glass of something cold and sink into a steaming outdoor bath — or play backgammon and trace constellations in the vast, star-drenched sky. Inside each lodge, natural textures, luminous spaces, and design-led interiors create a calming and eco-friendly cocoon for 2 to reconnect with the great outdoors.
The owner and his cousins grew up camping in these very woodlands and valleys, learning to cook over open flames and losing themselves in the landscape and long conversations: guests are encouraged to do the same. Forage for wild ingredients – there’s a guide to help you find chestnuts, wild garlic or juniper berries – before preparing a feast over your dedicated fire-cooking setup. Otherwise, explore the wild gardens, roll out a yoga mat to practice against a backdrop of birdsong, or loll on the porch with a book. As the seasons shift, so does the experience: loose-leaf teas and seasonal cakes in winter, wreath-making workshops in autumn, and picnics by the lake in summer. Come solo, as a couple, or gather the gang and book all 5 units. All the magic of camping wrapped up in the design-led style and high-end comforts of a cabin. Yes, please.
Getting here: train to Godalming, then taxi (8 mins)

Frank and his brother & cousins, grew up camping in the woodlands and valleys in and around this 300-acre estate, and he wanted to recreate and elevate this experience for others. “Our site offers the restorative rituals of camping, but done in real style and comfort. We all innately crave these special moments amongst nature, and nowhere are they felt more powerfully than by the Firesyde.”
He loves
“There’s a special moment, when the sun has set, the fire is lit and the world has gone quiet for the evening; all you can hear is the faint sound of a bird in the distance and the crackle of the fire. A vast silence sweeps the valleys. You sit with loved ones until the early hours, lost in conversation and the warm embrace of nature.”
We love
The gorgeous stone bathtubs, and unique fireplace design.

Pets only allowed midweek. Patchy phone reception but high-speed WiFi. You’re not secluded, as there are 5 lodges plus a row of cottages nearby, but everything is staggered for privacy.
Sustainability.
“Each lodge is oriented for optimal natural light and passive heating, reducing the need for artificial energy. High-performance glazing and insulation ensure year-round comfort while minimising heat loss. Additionally, appliances are energy-efficient. Taken together these properties ensure a low environmental footprint.”
