With chic interiors that rival those of a boutique hotel, you’d never guess that this woodland cabin is totally off-grid. But off-grid it is –and offline at that – so if the thought of not hearing a ping, ring or buzz for a few days fills you with deep relief, then this is the place for you. Surrounded by tranquil forest, you’ll breakfast to birdsong and drift off to the hoot of an owl; the slow rhythms of nature will urge you into a different, much lovelier routine.
Set between the chocolate-box villages of Bibury and Baunton, you’ve got the best of the Cotswolds on your doorstep. Footpaths lead you across the farmland and straight into the heart of the region, with its rolling green hills, honey-coloured houses and patchwork fields. In spring and summer, cycle along leafy lanes and seek out secret wild swimming spots (ask owner Eloise for her favourite seasonal dips). In the colder months, take long, rambling walks with your dog then cosy up in country pubs for fireside drinks. Return home to sizzle dinner over the firepit (we’d recommend the Argentinian-inspired asado packs on offer; Eloise is a chef) or eat at The Pig, 10 mins’ walk from your door. Best followed by a night-time soak in your wood-fired hot tub as you watch for shooting stars.

Sustainability.
The hut is off grid, with solar-powered electricity and composting loos. The grass is only cut once per year and the woodlands are carefully managed to create biodiversity for wildlife, including some rare species found here.

- Follow the footpaths and dry stone walls across the farm to discover the Cotswolds – idyllic villages, patchwork farmland and rolling hills. Or hop on a horse at nearby Talland Stables to see the glorious countryside from a different perspective.
- You’re in the same village as The Pig Cotswolds, with its fabulous kitchen-garden restaurant. Wander there for a lazy lunch or dinner.
- Bibury, home to the quaint cottages of Arlington Row and a catch-your-own-trout fishery, is one of the most picturesque villages in the Cotswolds – and it’s just a 5-minute drive from the farm.
- Cycling is popular, with winding lanes that take you through chocolate-box villages, vast swathes of farmland and nature reserves.
- Search out the wild-swimming spots in the area – Eloise will point you in the right direction for the best seasonal swims, from casual river dips to life-affirming lake laps.
- Rainy day? Pop into nearby Cirencester and go antiques hunting at The Cornhall Arcade, admire archeological finds at The Corinium Museum and stop for tasty baked goods at KNEAD Bakery.
- Treat yourselves to a wine-tasting and vineyard tour at Poulton Hill Estate, home to award-winning English wines and flocks of rare-breed sheep.
- The farm-to-table dining and dreamy wellness spa at Daylesford Farm is well worth the 30-minute drive. Or enjoy a long lunch at the Michelin Green Star dining room.
- For a day on the water, head to South Cerney lakes, where you can swim, paddleboard or windsurf.
- Dive into the creative inspirations of William Morris at Kelmscott Manor, then stop for a cosy lunch at The Plough Inn.

In 4pm: out 11am
The hut is off-grid with solar panel electricity which can be used for lighting, fridge and radio. High usage items like hair straighteners, blow dryers will fuse the electrics. Phones and laptops can be charged. The longer days in summer give more electricity whereas shorter winter days give less.
The Organic Farm shop is a couple of miles down the road and is open Tuesday – Sunday. Coop is 24 hours is 3 miles down the lane and there are plenty of farm shops and supermarkets in the area.
