An early morning plunge in your wild swimming pond, followed by coffee on the jetty, toes dangling, as you watch the dragonflies flit across the crystal-clear water… if there’s a better way to start a day, we’ve yet to discover it. This peaceful spot on a countryside farm beckons you to unplug. Read in the wicker swing seat, spot wildlife from your deck (you’ll find binoculars inside), watch pink skies spread across the horizon at the end of the day.
Bustling Cambridge is 5 miles away along a direct cycle path, so bring bikes if you can; there are countryside walks, too, along the pretty River Cam and around the Grantchester meadows. Later, return to the secluded comfort of your timber-clad cabin, with its copper-lined shower, beautiful green-velvet bed, and miniature kitchen stocked with homemade goodies for breakfast. As dusk descends, light the firepit and have supper beneath the stars, or wander across the fields to the village pub.

Punting on the Cam
- Zip into Cambridge (5 miles along a cycle path from the village) for a mooch around the museums, galleries and independent shops, then have a delicious lunch on Benet St. Or punt down the Cam and soak up the sights from the water.
- Stroll through the Grantchester meadows, a pretty 5-mile circular walk from the village centre. There are plenty of spots for a wild swim en route.
- Sink into a deckchair under the apple trees at Orchard Tea Garden – this Cambridge institution has been serving up cream teas here for over a century.
- Duxford Imperial War Museum is a short drive away, its enormous hangars filled with incredible aircraft. Climbing aboard a WW2 Lancaster is an unforgettable experience.
- The area is full of historic homes and estates. Wimpole Hall has 600 acres of beautiful parkland and a rare breed farm. Jacobean-style Anglesey Abbey is particularly lovely in winter, when snowdrops fill its gardens.
- You can walk or cycle along boardwalks at Wicken Fen, a wetland nature reserve with masses of birds.
- Book ahead for Sunday roast at The Three Horseshoes, a pretty thatched pub a couple of miles away in Madingley.

Unfortunately not. We do love them and have one of our own who you might meet, but our site is not securely fenced.
Our retreats and suites are adults only, though babes in arms are welcome. We can provide a travel cot. We just ask that you respect that other guests may be enjoying a child-free break.
Not necessarily! We have recently seen an increase in the number of guests who arrive by train and a taxi from Cambridge station. There are a few buses into Cambridge from just outside our gate or a more frequent service a short walk away. Ubers and cabs are about £15-20 into the city centre, or you can just chill out here, preordering food packs and two pubs within walking distance.
Cambridge is the perfect city for exploring on 2 wheels. It is about 5 miles into the city centre from here. If you would like to bring your own bikes, there is plenty of space to secure them outside each space. Alternatively hire our ebikes for the day.
All our spaces have good fibre broadband wifi, so you can keep in touch. The mobile signal is not always great for some networks though so do enable wifi calling or use WhatsApp.
We love it when guests book in for a special celebration and are happy to help. We have birthday bunting that we can pop up in your space as a little surprise and lots of treats you can preorder to have waiting for your loved one. Hand-tied bouquets of flowers, delicious Italian patisserie cakes, bottle of fizz and balloons can all be arranged through our local suppliers. Please contact us once you have made a booking.
All our spaces have a small kitchenette to prepare breakfast and light snacks but not an oven or hob.
